Hi! I'm Laura
I’m so glad you’re here!
Welcome to Fortunate in Fifth Grade. It is exactly how I feel about my teaching job. I have been teaching for 12 years now. I taught 5th grade for 7 years and was so “fortunate” to start my Teachers Pay Teachers store in 5th grade.
I started out in 1st grade. Going from 1st to 5th was a BIG change but one that I loved! I made a decision to switch districts and was given the opportunity to teach 5th grade. I always thought I would be a primary teacher but I 100% believe that things happen for a reason and I absolutely love teaching 5th grade! I love my school, my 5th grade team, and my principal! This is why I feel very fortunate. However, I decided to make a change this year and moved to a 4th grade teaching position in the same district but a new building and back working with a principal I love and missed dearly when she got pulled to a new building.
I am a mother of two boys. They are no longer my babies as they are growing into young men that I could not be more proud of.
I love to organize and craft. My silhouette cameo is my go-to tool for my classroom and craft projects. I might still love One Direction, and I never act my age! I love to be silly with my family, friends, and my students. You have to have fun in life!
My hope for this blog is to provide other teachers with some inspiration, resources, share what is working, share what is not, teacher humor, and links and shoutouts to other amazing teacher’s resources! I am so thankful for Teachers Pay Teachers. I had to build a 1st grade classroom and a 5th grade classroom and all the amazing TPT sellers on there came to my rescue! Now on to building a 4th grade classroom! I can’t wait!
Enjoy the posts and I hope you find something to take away with you to make your day better! Don’t forget to subscribe to get notification of new posts.
